About Katie Baggott

From a young age it has always been an interest of mine to understand why people behave the way that they do. After being introduced to the chemical industry at the age of 15 I was inspired to become a forensic scientist. When a family member was murdered I realised the importance of forensic science due to the difference it made in my family’s life. I would like to have the opportunity to make this difference in other peoples’ lives. My interest has been further developed after seeing many different documentaries about forensic science, helping me realise my future career aims to aspire for. This passion has allowed me to graduate from Teesside university with a 2:1 in BSc (Hons) forensic Science. I have held a position as an analyst for GlaxoSmithKline since September 2017 and I have developed a passion for pharmaceutical science and the industry it is within. I understand the importance that this laboratory work has for the consumer at the end of the supply chain.
