About Katie Bailey

Associates in Sports Studies from SUNY Broome and a Bachelors in Coaching from SUNY Cortland. Currently pursuing my Masters in Education with a concentration in Coaching through Greenville University. Coaching is my absolute passion. You get to have a unique relationship with the athletes by teaching them life lessons through sport. Being a mentor to these kids on and off the field is my number 1 priority, I want them to leave a better person than when they got here. Two of my favorite specifics to coach are team building and goalkeeping. Teaching within the sports realm is my other passion whether it’s a Team Sports class or Ethics in Sports. The sports world is constantly expanding throughout various avenues. It’s important to have these students think bigger picture and outside the box as well as properly equipping them with the tools they need to succeed and grow within sports and Phys Ed. Even though most of my experience is in soccer, I am an all around sports enthusiast. Basketball, softball, baseball, volleyball and football all the way through to ping-pong, bowling and corn hole. Sports are important to me and a huge passion of mine, always will be. I've played varsity soccer in high school from 2002 to 2009 as a goalkeeper and received NYPENN league MOP my senior year. I was nominated by my head coach in 2005 for a United States National Soccer Award. I played 1 year of college soccer for Davis College in 2009 with an unfortunate hand injury in 2010 that would end my college playing career due to multiple surgeries. Currently, I play and “coach” adult rec soccer, volleyball and softball and I like furthering my education by attending coaching seminars and conferences. I've helped coach a high school soccer team my sophomore year of college in 2010. I've coached youth soccer in summer camps and I’ve coached varsity girls basketball from 2021-2022. I have been coaching with SUNY Broome women’s soccer since 2018, started as an intern and got brought on as one of the assistant coaches under Coach Bill Rich and Coach Chris Grafton. Resume readily available upon request. I was the Intramurals coordinator here at SUNY Broome for 2022-23 and I’m also an adjunct instructor within the Physical Education/Sports Studies Department.
