About Katie Grumbir

After receiving my Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics and prior to completing my dietitian internship, I worked as the Garden Based Nutrition Program Coordinator at area schools in Northern Michigan. This sparked my love of gardening and I enjoyed showing kids that vegetables can be fun and tasty, especially when they grow them and care for them. After completion of my Dietetic Internship and passing the registration exam, I worked as a health coach in corporate wellness for 3.5 years, and then moved into a content development role (including creation of healthy recipes, handouts on nutrition for chronic conditions and tip sheets for nutrition, exercise and healthy living.) I also created and implemented nutrition presentations for corporate wellness clients. During this time, I trained health coaches on current trends in nutrition, ensuring they were coaching with the most up to date information surrounding health and wellness. I then decided to stay home with my daughter in 2017. We now have two girls (4 and 6.5 years old), a dog and cat. My time spent at home has allowed me to develop my love for cooking and has given me more experience making easy, healthy meals in a time crunch. I have personal experience in navigating nutrition with infants and children, and strategies for preventing and overcoming picky eating. I know first hand the challenges parents may face with their health and wellness goals after having children. It has given me the opportunity to spend time gardening with my kids, which is something I continue to be passionate about. I like to grow and challenge my brain, so during my time spent at home I also worked my own business through different direct sales companies (Usborne Books and More, DotDotSmile), while helped me improve my networking and communication skills. I also gained more experience in customer service, and made much of my own content for advertising on social media. I am familiar with using content apps like Canva, PicTapGo and PhotoRoom. As my kids are getting older, I am beginning to look at options for jumping back into my career as a dietitian.
