About Katie McLeod

I have been a teacher for nearly 18 years. I have predominantly worked as a Special Needs Teacher in a school that supported pupils with profound and multiple learning disabilities. I recently worked at a new Communication and Interaction Base with pupils with moderate learning difficulties. I have achieved a Masters degree in Special Needs whilst working full time and attended numerous training courses to develop my knowledge of both special educational needs and of the Early Years Education. I have been a Designated Safe Guarding lead and a member of the leadership team. I have chaired various meetings in relation to Education Health and Care plans, which I have then updated and completed the necessary paperwork for. I have written and moderated, Individual Education Plans and Behaviour and Positive Handling plans where necessary. I have also attended Early Support meetings and Multi disciplinary meetings. I am a very dedicated and determined person who strives to do the best I can to ensure my pupils achieve their full potential in all areas of their lives, helping them to engage in lesson that are well planned resourced and inspiring.
