Background
About Katie Neubert
I am a nonprofit leader passionate about transforming organizations into places where both people and missions thrive. Since 2022, I’ve led We Care Arts through a period of dramatic financial, operational, and programmatic growth — proving what’s possible when vision, discipline, and belief in people come together. Financial Stewardship & Growth When I joined, the organization was facing a net loss. Within three years, we are reversing that course: expanding our grant base by nearly 200%, reimagining fundraising (+23% YTD), and increasing contract and outreach services (+22% YTD). These combined efforts drove a 36% increase in total revenue, putting us on track for record-breaking growth in 2025. Investing in People Sustainability begins with staff. By restructuring the org chart, adjusting pay scales, and moving from mostly $10/hour positions to full-time professionals, we’ve built a team positioned for long-term success. We also reintroduced 403b matching and EAP mental health benefits, strengthening retention and culture. Operational Excellence & Strategy In 2022, We Care Arts was out of compliance and on a one-year probationary accreditation. Today, we hold full OHMAS and DODD certifications and a 3-year CARF accreditation. We modernized every organizational policy and launched a new 5-year Strategic Plan that aligns KPIs with staff goals. Mission Impact & Program Expansion Most importantly, our programs have grown in ways that matter: ArtWORKS tripled the number of unique artist-clients served. Outreach services grew locations by 187%, while the number of Special Education high school classrooms more than doubled (11 → 25). Total program hours expanded 1300%(532 in 2022 → 39,454 in 2024). Every metric represents lives touched — artist-clients gaining confidence, families finding hope, and communities growing stronger as we lean into our mission of empowering healing through art and community.
