About Katie Oconnor
In 2014, I was hired as the first art therapist at UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. During this time, I have worked to help create the art therapy program, which is part of the larger Creative & Expressive Arts Therapies and Child Life departments. We offer individual, sibling, family, and group art therapy sessions for all inpatient units on a consult basis. I also sit on multiple committees and work to continue develop new art therapy programming including new groups and virtual shows through the closed-circuit TV channel at the hospital. In addition to my full-time work at the Children's, I began working in private practice in April of 2018. My practice, now known as Canvas Conversations and Therapeutic Services, LLC offers both art therapy and counseling out patient services virtually and at my office located in the North Hills area of Pittsburgh. I'm currently located in Allison Park and have current availability for new clients. I accept Highmark, UPMC, and private pay/sliding scale.
