About Katie Oneill Sepe

A leader with strong problem solving skills who is committed to the Naperville Park District, the community we serve and the staff who make it all happen. As the Director of Human Resources for the Naperville Park District, I support over full time, part time and seasonal staff annually. General responsibilities include administering employee benefits, overseeing the risk management program, managing recruiting efforts, compensation administration, ADA compliance, performance appraisal process, employee development and growth, policy development, employee recognition, employee onboarding and legal compliance matters. I am actively involved with the two self-insurance pools in which the District is a member - the Park District Risk Management Agency (PDRMA) and the Intergovernmental Personnel Benefit Cooperative (IPBC). I chair the PDRMA Claims Committee, am a member of the PDRMA Education and Training Committee, PDRMA Membership Assembly and the PDRMA Property/Casualty Program Council. I serve on the IPBC Operations Committee as well. Additionally, I participate on the HR Source HR Advisory Council, the Illinois Parks and Recreation Association's (IPRA) Salary Study Committee and the IPRA Workplace Taskforce. I am a primary contributor to the District earning the IPRA Exceptional Workplace Award and the District,'s successful accreditation and reaccreditation through the National Recreation and Parks Association's Commission for Accreditation of Parks and Recreation Agencies (CAPRA). I also serve in the roles of CAPRA visitor, advisor and mentor to other agencies seeking accreditation and reaccreditation. I have had the privilege of presenting on HR topics at both the IPRA and NRPA conferences.
