About Katie S.

Hello! My name is Katie. I am currently a graduate student in Clemson’s MS and Ph.D. Applied Psychology, Human Factors, program and recently graduated with my BA in Psychology from CSULB. My research interests include accessibility, applied visual cognition, aviation, digital health, human factors in health care, individual differences, medical devices, training, UI/UX, and workspace design. Through my work, I have had some great opportunities to use client feedback to make systems more user-friendly, create new workflows, bring processes in line with government requirements, and work with amazing people. Through volunteering and being active in my social groups, I have contributed to my communities by taking on leadership roles, fostering an atmosphere of positivity and acceptance, and making human factors concepts relatable to a wide audience. Outside of school, work, and research, I like to read, spend time with family and friends, exercise, rock climb, bake, pattern draft, sew, sketch, cook, and do yoga.
