About Katie Schultz

I'm all about learning. Learning for others, learning for myself. I believe a lasting learning experience is one in which you didn't even realize you were learning. And I want to be the one who creates learning experiences like that. So, I'd say I'm pretty lucky to be in the field of Learning and Development. My design process focuses on balancing the structure of classic instructional design models and the possibilities offered by novel and creative approaches. It is important to follow a basic set of procedures to ensure a high minimum standard of learning. But, to take learning to the next level, it is just as important to experiment with new ideas and approaches. Taking these risks offers opportunities to learn in the face of success or failure and ultimately, improve on the work. When it comes to being better at my job, I understand that having at least a bit of knowledge about a lot of different things goes a long way. This is what motivates me to keep pursuing new learning opportunities - both professional and personal. I've learned many things in this pursuit. But those I am most proud of are learning design project management, e-learning design in Articulate 360, use of plain language principles, and LMS administration.
