About Katie Seaberg

Marine social science and policy specialist with over 4 years of experience in marine conservation and research. I am currently employed by the International Fund for Animal Welfare as a Marine Campaign Officer, where I work to protect biodiversity, focusing on risk reduction and mitigation of human activities that impact the marine environment. Working across research, advocacy, and policy, I foster sustainable coexistence between human activities and marine life on local, national, and international levels. I earned my MSc from the University of Oxford in Nature, Society, and Environmental Governance, graduating with distinction, where I researched the development of human-ocean relationships and their impact on conservation outcomes. I obtained my BA with honors from the University of Notre Dame, where I researched the influence of local knowledge on contemporary environmental policy. My academic background fuels my commitment to interdisciplinary solutions in environmental governance.
