Creating training devices that “guarantee” the fundamental skill is executed correctly by embedding a reinforcement system into the device is novel and the time is right for the unveiling. The value of such a training device has the potential to not only elevate an athlete’s success, but to propel sport into the future. The two sports training devices I invented have the potential for global impact and can change the way sports training devices are utilized. Raising the bar by not just using a training devise to help an athlete execute a skill, but demanding the skill is performed correctly is indispensable. Built into each of these products, is a flawless system that rewards/reinforces an athlete only when the fundamental skill of the sport (hitting a baseball and kicking a soccer ball) is executed correctly. Additionally, and an added bonus to the products, are once the flawless system embedded in the product is taught to youngsters, they are able to practice independent of adult intervention. When young athletes are able to use a training device on their own and are reinforced throughout the activity only when they complete the skill correctly, then we have managed to create the optimal sports training device! As a teacher and coach for almost 50 years, the hardest part of teaching a skill is not teaching the skill itself, but undoing flawed technique learned early by an athlete and re-introducing the fundamental skill correctly! The time is now to propel sport into the future! The time is now for young athletes to excel by ensuring the fundamentals of sport are taught early and accurately to guarantee the greatest possibility of success.
