About Katina Cornell

My name is Katina Cornell, and I am a passionate and experienced educator and leader, deeply committed to nurturing both academic success and emotional well-being. Since 2017, I’ve had the privilege of serving at King’s Baptist Grammar School, where I currently hold the position of Deputy Head of Middle School (Years 6–9) and Year 7 Pastoral Teacher, delivering English, HASS, and Pastoral Care. My leadership philosophy is grounded in care, clarity, and high expectations. I strive to inspire and equip students for lifelong learning while fostering a values-driven culture where both staff and students feel valued, heard, seen, supported, and empowered. I am particularly passionate about building leadership capacity - not only in young people but also in the educators around me. I take great pride in mentoring emerging leaders, encouraging reflection, initiative, and confidence to grow into impactful, future-focused educators and role models. I believe that strong relationships are at the heart of effective teaching and leadership, and I am driven by the belief that every student and staff member deserves to belong to a school community where they can thrive, grow, and lead.
