About Katja Ment

Responsibility, reliability and committment are the principle of my work. With over twenty years working experience, mainly focussing on international development cooperation in Africa, I gained a sound understanding of development approaches worldwide and particularly of the German development aid. Working with a wide range of civil society organisations from the public and private sector in South, East- and West Africa enabled me to gain extensive advocacy and communication skills as well as subtential analytical knowledge in various sectors of the development field. Organisational strengthening including the facilitation of strategic planning and PM & E processes has been the focus of my work. I am highly competent in establishing contacts to international, regional and national networks as well as in developing good relations to potential donor agencies. This also includes the mobilisation of financial resources from public and private donors. My details knowledge in local approaches and critical eye for details are often requested at round-table meetings. My strength lies in teaming up people with conflicting positions and facilitating a joint way forward. I am able to adjust my behaviour and conversation to each respective situation and show empathy. I also have a keen sense of the underlying tone and can read an atmosphere quickly. If needed, I am able to openly broach critical and undisclosed issues.
