About Katlyn Larrieu

When I was fourteen years old, I received the news that no child should ever have to hear, “You have stage three cancer-Hodgkins Lymphoma”. After four rounds of chemotherapy and six weeks of radiation, I was declared in remission and have been for 10 years now. This was a very difficult time not only for me, but for my entire family. However, this experience helped me to mature and realize what is truly important in this life. The Make-A-Wish Foundation granted my wish during this time and helped spark a positive outlook on my life that continues with me every day. They inspired in me a passion to give back and spread joy to other children, just like me. I went on to study sociology and non-profit in college and started working as a Wish Manager immediately upon graduation. I have now gone on to help coordinate and plan the wishes of over 200 South Carolina wish children. Every day I go to work, I strive to bring my best professional skills such as organization, event coordinating, teamwork, and communication. But, I also strive to bring a positive spirit and a passion that helps myself and Make-A-Wish South Carolina reach our goals and continue to spread hope, strength, and joy to children who need it most
