Currently, I am a Neuroscience PhD candidate at the University of Michigan studying pediatric acute brain injury under the mentorship of Dr. Thomas Sanderson. My research is focused on investigating the mechanistic role of mitochondrial lipids in neonatal hypoxia ischemia encephalopathy (HIE). My thesis has turned into a cross roads of several STEM fields; combining biochemistry, physiology and neuroscience. The interdisciplinary work of my thesis allows me to approach physiological questions with a holistic perspective.
