About Katrin Johannessen

Jack of all trades, master of all? I’m a recent Journalism BA graduate with experiences in many fields ranging from teaching, translation, website management, and feature writing. My curiosity for the world around me has always motivated me to keep learning and to constantly evolve my knowledge and skills. This is the reason I decided to go back to university for a second bachelor’s degree in 2018 after already finishing a previous BA in English and International Studies in 2016. I have spent the last decade studying, travelling, volunteering, and working in different industries. I have used my creativity and writing skills as a journalist and website manager at Dimma, as well as an editor at my university’s student newspaper, Overtime. I also used my organisational and management skills there and as the main co-ordinator for AFS Intercultural Programs in the Faroe Islands and a shift supervisor and Starbucks. I used my language skills in paid and volunteered translation work, both written and spoken. I used my communication and interpersonal skills as a care work assistant, substitute teacher and bartender. Looking for my next step in journalism or editorial work or something which will enable me to use my communication and/or language skills.
