About Katrin Koester

Katrin Koester has been Head of Corporate Communication at BPW since November 2015. In this role she is responsible for brand management, advertising, PR, Social Media, internal communications, events and trade fairs. Since September 2019, she has also been responsible for the Group`s international Brand success as Group Head of Corporate Communication. Prior to that, Katrin was Spokeswoman of Unitymedia for almost ten years. During this time she managed the communication of numerous milestones in the company’s history, such as the launch of football channel arenaTV, the acquisition of Unitymedia by Liberty Global, the merger with Kabel BW and the development of the company from a regional cable TV operator to the leading German cable operator offering Internet, telephony and TV. In 2012 and 2013 she and her team received the Libbys Award from Liberty Global for outstanding PR achievements. In 2012 she was responsible for launching the "Made in.de Award" which was carried out until 2014 and became one of the most important competitions for start-up companies in Germany at that time. Katrin has more than 20 years’ experience in all areas of media and communication. Prior to joining Unitymedia in 2006, she worked as Head of Marketing and PR with PSi Printer Systems international and as Spokeswoman of Rittal, the world's leading systems provider for enclosures, power distribution, climate control, IT infrastructure and software & services. Katrin studied in Siegen and Edinburgh, and holds a master’s degree in English, Applied Linguistics and Economics.
