About Katrina Alscher

I currently manage facility services and site planning for both Solid Power locations to support our ever-changing needs as we continue to grow our technology and expand as a company. Within an evolving start-up, my responsibilities have morphed over time from a person wearing many hats to the headquarter site facility manager. I'm fortunate to be in a position where I can apply my strong management and organizational skills to cover multiple sites and multiple responsibilities. My career began in the food and beverage industry in a high throughput manufacturing facility. I managed production groups, directing work and delegating assignments for daily production goals. Additionally, this role required working cross-functionally with various other departments in the plant for seamless production. Much of my past experience in an engineering role has been around research and development on the application of new materials in advanced engineering devices. When I moved to Solid Power, my early years consisted of similar R&D work but on a different technology - solid state rechargeable batteries. There was always an eye towards large scale manufacturing in tandem with being a globally disruptive technology if we could make it all work. Much of my early time spent in the lab has helped to set the path for where the company is today. In addition to hands-on R&D, I have performed a variety of other technical tasks including testing/data analysis and experimental research to establish properties and performance metrics; I've developed procedures (SOP's,etc.) for internal use along with testing and process documentation; I've also been involved with scale up of lab procedures and transition to larger scale production. Beyond my technical aptitude, I've always possessed excellent skills in organization and communication, written and verbal, and have an amazing eye for detail. Over my years at Solid Power, I've had further opportunity to grow my experience to include materials purchasing, procurement, and logistics as well as facility management, maintenance, and project management, where I stand today.
