About Katrina Franks

I qualified as a registered nurse in 2004 and progressed to registering as a midwife in 2007. Currently team leader for a safeguarding team of midwives providing antenatal and postnatal care for vulnerable women and their families. Predominately specializing in child protection and substance misuse. I started this team two years ago which has proven to be invaluable in changing the lives of new mothers and their newborns. This role requires excellent communication skills and collaboration between multiple agencies to ensure the safe delivery of care and maintaining the safety of vulnerable families. I have recently completed the Level 3 Award in Teaching and Education, with a plan to provide freelance teaching in the workplace on topics such as first aid, health and safety, fire safety and antenatal education and breastfeeding support. I have qualified as an instructor for first aid in the workplace, and paediatric first aid and also recently qualified as a mental health first aider. I am looking forward to educating in different workplaces and schools to develop the life savings skills from physical to mental well-being.
