Background
About Katrina Prophet
I am currently serving in my 12th year as an educator of the Richmond County School System. I earned a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education from Georgia Southern University and later received a master's degree in Accomplished Teaching-Curriculum and Instruction from Georgia Southern University. In addition to degrees, I have endorsements in Mathematics and English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) and I have Educational Leadership-Tier 1 certification. I believe that every child is a seed that needs resources in order for he/she to take root and grow. As the first people of influence in a child's life, parents till the soil to prepare the seed for growth. Educators then provide water to the seed in the form of knowledge. Together, we provide sunlight through exposure to real world experiences. We prune through establishing rapport, engagement, and building relationships of trust and respect. I am passionate about collaborating with families and other educators to facilitate the process of accessing tools needed for student advancement.
