About Katrina Rehrer

Katrina joined the Gulf South Research Corporation in 2019. She has over 4 years of experience conducting wildlife surveys and projects across various unique locations throughout the United States. Her work has included monitoring the breeding behaviors of solitary and colonial nesting shorebirds, the nesting success of loggerhead and green sea turtles, and conducting rare plant surveys in coastal North Carolina. Katrina also participated in the population mapping of Oregon spotted frogs along the Little Deschutes River, and performed population status surveys for several raptor species, including Northern Spotted Owls and Great Grey Owls in the Cascade Mountains of central Oregon. In addition, she has also conducted raptor population surveys in the Sierra Nevada Mountains of California, and participated in the Brown-headed Cowbird management program in Southern California by identifying and handling many different species of passerines. Also, Katrina has participated in several habitat restoration projects to restore wetland habitats in central Oregon and Northern California. Katrina earned her Bachelors of Science degree in Wildlife Management and Conservation from Humboldt State University in 2015.
