About Katrina Rye

My educational background is in history and museum studies, with experience in social media/communications. I completed my BA in History in 2016 at Saginaw Valley State University in Saginaw, MI, and my Master's in Public History in 2018 at American University in Washington, D.C. I am the Secondary Building Substitute, Social Media/Parent Outreach Liaison, Business Office Support and HFA Board Secretary. My main role as the Secondary Building Substitute is to sub for HFA teachers who are out of the office. In terms of Social Media, I manage the HFA website, Facebook page, Instagram (hfadearborn1997), LinkedIn Account, and create the monthly newsletters that are shared with staff, parents and students. As the Parent Outreach Liaison, I coordinate with Parent Organization and the Navigator's Booster Club to assist in their groups upcoming fundraisers, outreach between parents and teachers, and assist in organizing parent volunteers for student activities in need of extra assistance. Lastly, my role as the HFA Board Secretary is to send out public notices in regards to upcoming meetings, to organize any files needed for presentation, and to take down the meeting minutes which are posted to the HFA Board webpage after approval from the board.
