About Katrina Thompson

As Manager of Forensics, I was responsible for the day-to-day functioning of three forensic mental health programs. The role included program oversight and development, hiring and firing, managing a headcount of 70+, and ensuring the program functions based on Ministry of Health expectations including budget management. I was in this role for 5 years. Prior to this role, I was working as an Occupational Therapist on an Early Psychosis Intervention Team. I provided direct client care and case management to clients living in the community. This involved collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists and other professionals (nurses, social workers, other occupational therapist). I carried a caseload of 15+ clients. I was in this role for 8 years. In both roles, collaboration with other community stack holders and building partnerships was imperative. In addition to these roles, I was training in CBT, CBTp, DBT, TVIC, Brief Solution Focused Therapy, and more. I also participated in committee work, including co-chairing the TVIC committee. I was also integral in training development and training facilitation, both at an organizational level and within the broader community.
