About Katy Hess
After six years in public education, I happily stumbled on Child Life and have been actively pursuing certification and the attainment of my Masters degree for the last two years. I completed a 120-hour practicum at Nemours/A.I. duPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, DE in Fall 2017. I was later hired by the Child Life department at Nemour's as a Seasonal Child Activity Coordinator helping to organize their holiday donations and run special events. I just completed an ACLP accredited internship at Children's Hospital & Medical Center in Omaha, NE. Throughout this internship experience I have been observing and independently implementing child life services in general inpatient units, hematology/oncology clinic, infusion center, surgical unit, short stay unit, emergency department, PICU, NICU, and radiology.
