Background

About Katy Murray

I have been working now in mental health for nineteen years and continue to enjoy the challenges and learning that I come across. In my roles as an Occupational Therapist I have carried case loads and designed and implemented Occupational Therapy services responding to client need. I have used The Model of Human Occupation’s OCAIRS and the MOHOST as my initial assessments. I have worked on a one to one basis with clients and also designed and implemented group programmes. My most recent roles have been for Kent Coast Volunteering where I coordinated a team of mentors as part of my role working on The Money Matters project. I am now working on two projects for KCV; as Folkestone's Good Neighbours Service coordinater and coordinator for The Anthology project. The Anthology project is funded by Independent Age. Working with The Good Neighbours Service we will use creative activities to illustrate and highlight the challenges and adaptations that older people have had to make during Covid-19. We are publishing a limited edition book and curating a public installation to give a voice to a group of people who have largely been invisible for much of the previous year. In all my roles I have enjoyed a close working relationship with teams, it is this relationship combined with my own abilities to observe and adapt, that I believe, made my managing risk successful. In addition fifteen years of running groups as part of my Specialist role for the Bethlem’s Specialist directorate has given me an enormous amount of experience of managing risk in group environments and a lot of insight into group dynamics. I have 20 years experience in teaching running arts and ceramics workshops, including showing and selling work. I have sourced, written, applied for and successfully executed charitable funding bid projects. I am a very reflective worker and have 19 years experience of engaging fully with clinical supervision I have set up and or taken part in audit structures and activities in my roles at The Bethlem, Glencare and Godden Green.
