About Katy Uys

I am a vibrant, outgoing young lady with great organisational skills. I find it easy to work in a team as well as a leader. I am a hard worker who likes to be challenged in all aspects of life. I’m a quick learner and not afraid to use my initiative because I am confident in my skills. I am also well-spoken and find it easy to get along with people on a personal as well as a professional level. My positive characteristics include patience, dedication, responsibility, and eagerness to learn so I can expand my frame of reference to become a well-rounded person. I have a passion for working with children and their development, as I believe it is a rewarding way to express my creativity. I have a hunger to share knowledge with learners and to watch them understand concepts for the first time. I am now interested in expanding my career into a lecturing capacity. My psychology background helps me have an understanding of situations from a student’s perspective and definitely contributes to my caring nature. I have 6 years’ experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder as a senior behavioural therapist and centre manager. I have been doing mainstream teaching in the early learning school and foundation phase for 6 years as well as Grade 2 leader for 2 years.
