About Katy Wiggins

A registered nurse with over 20 years of healthcare experience. I earned my Registered Nurse degree in 2009 and obtained my BSN in 2017. I completed my degree for my Master's in Business Administration in Healthcare Management in 2021. I have a robust background in Post-Surgical care, Outpatient care including Endoscopy, and Operating Room experience. I am currently a Quality Improvement Coordinator with a focus on regulatory. I am passionate about healthcare and patient safety with a new interest in regulatory. This passion stems from a long-term diagnosis with type one diabetes at the age of 3. My 6-year-old son was also diagnosed with type one diabetes at the young age of 15 months. Being involved with the healthcare system for so long really gave me a drive to become a nurse, even more now with my son. I have had the opportunity of working alongside some of the world’s most prestigious Nurse’s and Physician and because of this I have been able to encompass many great attributes to my nursing practice. I dedicate my entire career to my family, professors, peers, managers, and administrators who has helped mold me into the nurse I am today. My career goal is to provide the highest quality care possible to all patient’s. I feel I can best accomplish this by obtaining my CPHQ Certification to further my quality and leadership career.
