About Katya Conte

My name is Katya Conte and in April 2013 I received a Master's degree in Earth Sciences at the Department of Earth Sciences “Ardito Desio” of the University of Milano (graduated with 110/110 with honors). The Master Diplom work dealt with the numerical modeling of a stable lithosphere thinning, particularly focused on the transition between continental rifting and oceanic accretion, together with the collection of natural data from the Alps and other significant HT terrains selected to check the fit with model predictions, in term of lithologic affinity, PT-conditions and time intervals. During my undergraduate I also took a one-month field school on structural mapping high temperature rocks of the Dent Blanche nappe. In conclusion during my studies I ripened good capability to use programming software, among which in particular Fortran. I also became independent in making geological sections, in making geological survey activities (in particular of geological-structural detection) and in the execution of mesoscopic analysis of rock samples and microstructural analysis of thin sections. Since December 2013 I'm working in SLB. As Domain Data Scientist, my current job mainly consists of leveraging my domain expertise and data science knowledge to develop AI solutions across subsurface domain and mentor customers towards their Data Science journey. I’m a bright and dynamic person, creative and capable to work both individually and in groups. I’m very motivated and persevering in facing the difficulties.
