About Kaushik Shrinivas

A. WHAT'S MY STORY?From making paper volcanoes and kaleidoscopes for science projects to building my own paper recycling machine and pinhole camera for fun, I've been one do-it-in-order-to-learn-it person my entire life. I eventually studied architecture which allowed practical application of creativity, but I also ended up exploring various areas of the design field. I’m currently stepping into creative strategy, where I see potential to combine the diverse skill set I acquired over the years.B. WHAT DO I BRING TO THE TABLE?Firstly, idea visualisation; from graphics to spaces, I can represent ideas with my proficiency in Adobe and Autodesk softwares, but I also sketch well.Secondly, leadership; I've noticed that I work better as a team player than as an individual. While I do, I also bring about my team a sense of focus to the big picture.Lastly, presentation; whether it's visual or oral, I know how to make a good pitch.C. DO I HAVE ACHIEVEMENTS TO SPEAK OF?During the lockdown period, I founded a startup to teach architecture in my native language, Tamil. We translated and launched 9 books from English, and managed to sell books within a year.I hold 3 national awards for my architectural thesis on rehabilitation of Mahabalipuram, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in India.I spearheaded and prepared a project report with UNICEF, Thrissur District Collectorate and COSTFORD to make Thrissur a child-friendly district on the aftermath of Kerala floods in 2018.D. WHAT AM I UP TO NOW?I'm doing my Master's in Visual Brand Design at Domus Academy with a focus on creative strategy.
