About Kavya Michael
My research examines the multiple intersections of climate change/environmental hazards urban inequality inter and intra-regional migration and development in India. I am a recipient of the IDRC Climate Leadership Fellowship and was hosted at the Political Economy Research Institute UMass Amherst to research justice and equity implications of urban climate change adaptation measures. I am experienced in qualitative research methods including focus group discussions stakeholder engagement techniques and life-history analysis. My work is oriented strongly within the urban climate justice paradigm and has emphasized the need for bringing a climate justice lens to cities.
