About Kay Decuir

I enjoy spending time with my family, friends, and shopping and now spending time with my first grandchild, Matthew. I stay very busy volunteering and going to school to further my education. I am a life- long resident of Nederland. I am married to Bruce DeCuir who is now retired but worked 40 years for Nederland Independent School District. I have two children. Kasey Tanner-Vernon, daughter, who is a Pediatric Therapy Manager for a Pediatric Hospital in Texas. My son, Kirby Tanner, is a Doctor of Chiropractic practicing in Nederland, Texas. My son-in-law Andrew Vernon is a true to heart Aggie. I am known as "Grammie K K " to my grandson. My daughter in law Rachel Tanner works in Nederland at Triple R Brothers. I work as the Executive Director/ CEO of Nederland Economic Development Corporation in Nederland, Texas. I enjoy helping new businesses join the community and assisting current businesses in expansion projects. I also am the Broker/Owner of K DeCuir Properties, LLC in Nederland. I have a vast knowledge of real estate. My real estate background assists in the growth and development of the Nederland Economic Development Corporation. I am a current Nederland ISD School Board Trustee serving on the board for thirteen years. I am serving my 4th term as a NISD School Board Trustee. I have worked more than 35 years in the field of education. I was the former Executive Director of Shorkey Center in Beaumont, Texas. Prior to leading the Shorkey Center, I worked at the University of Texas in Austin as an Administrator for Public School Initiatives. My passions in life are helping others to succeed and I have a special place in my heart for Single Moms. I was a single mom for many years and learned through the ups and downs in life that one must never give up. I am a workaholic and enjoy advancing my education. I am thankful each morning for a new day. I am a Christian and a member of Nederland's First Baptist Church. Education:
