My journey, deeply rooted in a passion for law enforcement, research, and technology, has shaped me into an academic and practitioner with a unique blend of expertise. Earning first-class honours in Forensic Science paved the way for my ongoing PhD research in Video Forensics, a study I've further enriched by focusing on video enhancement and artificial intelligence. Concurrently, I have put these academic insights into practice as a Forensic Analyst at Amped Software. My role involves rigorously testing products, compiling comprehensive reports on their functionality and usability, and providing essential technical support to our users. Through these duties, I play an integral part in the product development process, focusing on improving the user experience to guarantee that our forensic software applications consistently deliver superior quality. Before joining Amped Software, I served as a Visual Evidence Officer at Merseyside Police for three years, where I gained a profound understanding of evidence handling and presentation, quality standards, and legislation. Driven by a deep-seated passion for the intricate world of artificial intelligence, I have invested significant time into understanding not only the profound potential of this technology but also the substantial implications and concerns tied to its application. My interest expands beyond the technical and algorithmic facets of AI, delving into the complicated realm of regulations and safety. As AI continues to permeate our lives, the regulatory landscape governing it and the safety measures required to protect us from potential misuse are of paramount importance. I am fervently committed to exploring these aspects, believing that responsible AI use necessitates a robust regulatory framework and stringent safety protocols to ensure that technology serves humanity while mitigating undue risks. Being an autistic individual with ADHD, I carry a personal and profound commitment towards advocating for neurodiversity. In my eyes, neurodiversity is not just a cause but a rich source of innovation and creativity that can transform societies. Therefore, I continually champion spaces that recognise and celebrate the cognitive diversity of humans as I work towards creating a more inclusive, understanding, and productive society that truly values the unique perspectives offered by the neurodiverse community.
