About Kay Murphy

I have over 20 years of finance and commercial banking experience, primarily in asset based lending. Currently, I hold the position of managing director at CIBC, working for the bank’s asset based lending group as a relationship manager. I work diligently with CEOs and CFOs of middle market companies to make sure their financing needs are met and their businesses can succeed, while mitigating the bank’s risk and increasing revenue. Most recently, I was a director at New England Consulting Partners, on an as needed basis, to assist with client visits, update ongoing cash flow models, present the firm’s services to banks and represent the firm at networking events and conferences. Previously, I held the title of vice president at PNC Bank, where I held the position of relationship manager for the bank's asset based lending group. Prior to joining PNC Bank, I held the finance manager position at Grand Prairie Accessory Services. I joined as the company was purchased from GE Aviation by private investors. As finance manager, I successfully negotiated the final purchase price adjustment, implemented a general ledger system, set sound accounting procedures and managed the accounting department’s daily responsibilities. Additionally, I worked with the Company’s audit firm to efficiently manage the year end audits, managed and administered the employee benefits and worked with lenders to ensure the Company maintained adequate financing for growing operations and capital investments. My additional ABL lending experience includes field examiner for Wells Fargo Bank. As a field examiner, I gained extensive knowledge of borrowers’ working capital needs and the impact of accounting procedures and practices on those needs. In May of 2014, I took a leave from asset based lending and started my own business, a children’s boutique in Dallas, Texas. Making this change provided a more flexible work environment while raising my small children. I successfully operated the business for 5 years until an opportunity to move to the Chicago area became available, at which time I closed the business.
