About Kay Ryan

I am a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland (FCA), and a graduate of University of Limerick from which I hold a Bachelor of Business Studies Degree (BBS). I also hold a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from National University of Ireland Galway. I am a senior leader with a successful career in a Big 4 accountancy practice and with multinational group experience with Freudenberg Group, of which Freudenberg Medical Galway is a subsidiary. I was a Senior Audit Manager with KPMG and I am currently the Head of Finance and Corporate Secretary with Cambus Medical. I have over 20 years’ experience of audit, financial advice, strong governance (internal control and risk management) and financial management. I have financial and governance experience in both the public sector (via financial audits and advisory role) and the private sector. Throughout my time at Freudenberg Medical, I have had the opportunity to successfully lead a finance team that initially supported a small medium enterprise to what is now a successful company within a global multinational group. As Head of Finance at Freudenberg Medical, I was the principal contact with local and corporate management and principal stakeholders on all financial, corporate governance and business support matters. Partnering with business unit leadership, the finance function provides finance support and influence across the Company. Heavily involved in strategic management, investment and reform projects and engaging with stakeholders across a range of functions. In my current position, I provide leadership and coordination of SBU ENT and Galway site financial reporting, planning and analysis. Act as a strategic business partner to senior leadership. I also perform the role of Corporate Secretary at Freudenberg Medical Galway, with responsibility for all company law matters. My work in corporate governance and the strategic support functions is a significant element of my role outside of the daily operational accounting and reporting space.
