Theodore Roosevelt said,"Whenever you are asked if you can do a job, tell 'em 'Certainly I can!' Then get busy and find out how to do it." This is me telling you,'Certainly I can!' My previous positions have two things in common. First is that before I began them, there were elements of the position that I knew nothing about: I had never managed a business before I took on the role of operating an escape room, a physical activity in a world of online entertainment; I had never been involved in a large company before I was supporting the distribution of goods across North America; I had never lived abroad before I moved to China to become a teacher. Yet I took these tasks in stride, I said 'certainly I can', and I found a way to succeed. The other common theme through my positions is an element of customer service. The more work I do and the more tasks I am exposed to the more sure I become that working with people is my passion. I like knowing that I added value to someone's day, that I made something better or easier or more enjoyable by listening, reacting, and providing an exceptional experience. My customer service positions are different in their content, but at their core is a desire to serve and to create memorable, enjoyable moments in whatever way I can. If I can do this as part of an exceptional team that understands, supports, and encourages each other then all the better - I firmly believe that a strong team can genuinely accomplish anything and I live this belief through my work.
