About Kay Taranto

My career has been split in two directions for many years. A paid career in the legal field and a voluntary one with Australia's wildlife and the environment. Both have provided me with a wide range of skills able to be utilized in many fields. With the completion of a Bachelor of Science (Zoology, Ecology and Conservation), all of my skills may be combined towards a common goal. I have skills and experience communicating with people from diverse cultures, with language barriers, emotional issues, and in emergency situations. My legal executive and administrative skills are extensive and include coordination of a Law Student Placement program in infringements and court clerking, together with administrative processes, office management, team leadership, quality assurance certification, staff training, procedures management, taskforce coordination and management, database management, Government contractual reporting, basic bookkeeping, document management, and are all undertaken with utmost integrity and attention to detail. I have many years experience in animal handing and care within the sphere of wildlife rescue and rehabilitation. My passion for the environment and everything that lives within it, is the driver for my involvement in wildlife rescue and rehabilitation, and raising awareness of Australia's amazing creatures. My ongoing care of injured and orphaned wildlife provides me with respect and admiration for the natural world together with hands on skills and experience with wild animals in compromised situations, health issues, requiring monitoring of behaviour and management. I strive to make a difference no matter how small and believe that everyone has the opportunity to do the same.
