About Kayla Bryant

A little bit about me. In August of 2007, I walked into a New York hotel for the first time bursting with excitement. I finally had the opportunity to visit the place that I knew would feel like home. Every day, I'd watch the staff attend to each of the guests’ needs. No matter how chaotic the hotel became the employees never lost their composure. But it was the concierge that held my attention the most. I saw her go through the process of speaking to a client, assessing their need, and making the persons request a reality. I was amazed; I knew right then and there I had to be a part of this industry. May of 2011, I was brought on staff at Valencia College as a Peer Educator. In this roll I was responsible for conceptualizing, planning, coordinating, and operating events on my college campus with my fellow staff members. Working as a Peer Educator led to my love for event planning. I found my passion. I love working with clients and vendors. Getting to know them, their needs, and making their vision come to life. It’s a wonderful feeling that makes all the stress tied into being an event professional worth it. After some time and research, I knew the best place for me to complete my education and gain more experience in this industry was FIU. As I complete my Bachelor’s degree in Event and Meeting Management, I am always searching for new openings to work, learn, and grow both as an individual and an event professional. I am no stranger to hard work and I am dedicated to my goals. I bring with me into this industry a different perspective.
