Background
About Kayla Danielle Mace
The human foot is a masterpiece of engineering and a work of art." From the cornfields surrounding my grandparents’ house, I loved making mud pies, collecting bugs, and gather worms because they felt funny if you ran your fingers along them a certain way. From inside my clubhouse with the odds and ends, I collected throughout the day, I would dream about all the great things I would one day do, ranging from many years of school to traveling between countries so I could collect even more for my clubhouse. To this day, I still think about the places I will go and the people I will meet- and still collect bugs along the way. Since my childhood, I have traveled to Germany, France, Monaco, Spain, and Peru. I have lived in my car and traveled the entire perimeter of Michigan- leaving a piece of my heart in the beautiful upper peninsula. Another summer, I again lived in my car and traveled all around the southern United States, going from the Mammoth Cave in Kentucky to Houston, San Antonio, Austin, Waco, Dallas and so many small towns here I met people I will never forget and even walked in on a ghost tour. From there I traveled to Baton Rouge, New Orleans, Tallahassee, Tampa, Ft Meyers, down to the southern most point of the United States and all the way back up to Nashville and back home to Iowa. I truly cherish the memories and people I have met along the way. My passion is to stay true to the little girl that sat in that clubhouse for hours on end, almost daily, thinking about all the good I would one day to for people and myself. My major was Biomedical Engineering, however after realizing that just was not the major for me, I switch to Statistics - and I can truly and honestly say that is one of the best decisions I have ever made. From my amazing instructors to advisors, I would not be where I am currently without their help. This all stems from that small child who found everything small so intensely interesting. The impact even the smallest living creatures have on the environment and even Earth is astounding. I am here to gain experiences that will assist in providing me opportunities to help better the world. I never knew my life would go this way, all the way from the middle of nowhere in Iowa to where I am today, but it's great, though- because I love adventures. Skills: Data Analysis, Mathematics, Statistical Analysis, Computer Programming, Word Processing, Problem Solving, Adaptability, Compassion, Strong Work Ethic, Time Scheduling and Management, Critical Thinking, Leadership, Communication, Teamwork, Customer Service
