About Kayla Deitz

Throughout my college career at the University of South Carolina, I have worked as the manager for the University's Outdoor Recreation Rental Shop starting in 2018. This position developed and enhanced my management, teamwork, and leadership skills. I have learned how to work independently and as a team, improved my analytical and problem solving skills, and became a proactive and reliable employee and leader. I also worked as a Student Intern for the University's Sustainable Carolina program during my Junior year where I worked with a small team focused on food waste and sustainability across campus. This position allowed me to gain experience collecting data, creating and distributing surveys, and providing educational outreach. While working on getting my Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science I have taken a multitude of laboratory classes ranging from Marine Science, Chemistry, Biology, and GIS. These labs have strengthened and fine-tuned my scientific research, writing, and analysis skills while also providing experience in common laboratory practices.
