About Kayla Driver
As a child, I witnessed a number of loved ones battle with cancer, and/or succumb to it, including two grandparents and a beloved school teacher. I decided at a very young age that I would pursue a career in research, and hoped to find a new treatment for cancer. I attended University of Western Ontario starting in 2005 and received a B.Sc. with an Honours Specialization in Genetics. Afterwards, I obtained a M.Sc. in Biochemistry in the field of molecular brain research, also from the University of Western Ontario. I am currently completing my PhD at McMaster University.
