Whether it's writing a breaking news brief or finding the perfect pictures and video to tell a compelling story, I strive for accurate and fast reporting. It’s important to have a pulse on the city in order to capture organic moments happening in real-time. I’m the perfect fit for any digital position in a newsroom. Over the last decade, I’ve shown a stellar work ethic and tenacity in pursuing a story or interview. My persistence, intensity, and thoroughness have made me dubbed a pitbull in the newsroom. When I sink my teeth into a story, I don't let it go until the interviews are done and content shines on every platform. With 10 years of digital producing and newsgathering experience, I use seasoned news judgment for special series, UGC content, spot features, community interest pieces, evergreen stories, and breaking news. I am excellent at combining interviews using mixed multimedia to enhance on-air or online news reports. I started out as an Assignment Editor at FOX5 KVVU in Las Vegas. Soon I accepted a job as a Social Media-Content Producer and Reporter at the Las Vegas Review-Journal, the leading news source in Nevada. While working in Las Vegas, I set my eyes on the top 20 news market and landed in Portland, Oregon. KATU News relocated me to be an Assignment Editor and part of the digital team. I managed our social media accounts, wrote and edited articles, and posted breaking news. Next, I took on a hybrid role as a Digital Producer and Content Discovery Editor at the legacy station in Portland, KGW News. KGW has allowed me to grow as a journalist to find stories, write, edit and post content in addition to overseeing the website's digital presence. This has given me phenomenal industry experience. Our station earned two Edward Murrow awards in 2022 for Digital Media and overall News Excellence. In Portland, I covered 400 straight days of protests, the pandemic, and a presidential election like no other. I value working on stories that matter to me, but more importantly, news that impacts, informs, or educates my greater community. I’m excited and ready for the next chapter of my news career in Los Angeles.
