About Kayla Holthouse

I am currently a Senior at Middle Tennessee State University. I have completed my major in Integrated Studies specializing in Education, and I will complete my minor in Psychology, as well as graduate, in December of 2017. I have been an active member of Zeta Tau Alpha Fraternity throughout my time at MTSU. Being apart of the sorority strengthened my leadership, organizational, and time management skills along with several more. I devoted my first two summers of college to bettering my leadership skills as a camp counselor at a YMCA summer camp in Nashville. During my time there I obtained an Ellis certification for CPR and First Aid as a lifeguard, and I earned a Tennessee boater's license as well as a certification to instruct classes on boating and boater safety. The summer camp experience left me with a positive outlook on this particular field of work, and I hope to return to a camp like it in the near future to learn more about management in that particular industry. I would like to gain and better my skills in this field to someday work and/or direct for a camp that betters the lives of the children that attend. My hope is for campers to leave with a more positive outlook on life as well as themselves. I believe that spending time in a positive, outdoor environment with uplifting staff and management can help campers and staff to obtain these qualities. During my free time I enjoy spending time outdoors, hiking, camping, and being on the water as well as spending time with family and friends.
