About Kayla Lugo

I’m a versatile and mission-driven professional with a B.A. in English from Skidmore College (Class of 2021), where I concentrated in Creative Writing and earned honors in Social Justice. Alongside my humanities studies, I built a strong foundation in STEM—particularly chemistry and physics—which equipped me with analytical thinking and technical problem-solving skills. While at Skidmore, I served as a Chemistry Lab TA and worked across departments, including IT Help Desk, Media Services, and Health Services, gaining hands-on experience in tech support, operations, and office administration. Currently, I work as a kindergarten teacher in Anne Arundel County while pursuing a Master of Arts in Teaching at Towson University, working toward licensure in Early Childhood Education. Balancing full-time teaching and graduate studies has strengthened my time management, adaptability, and ability to communicate and problem-solve under pressure—skills that are just as essential in fast-paced office and tech environments. Throughout my career, I’ve worked in both public and private sectors, including Human Resources at Six Flags Great Escape, where I supported seasonal hiring and onboarding. These diverse experiences have strengthened my ability to adapt quickly, build strong systems, and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. I’m now seeking new professional challenges where I can leverage my blend of creative insight, technical fluency, and operational know-how to drive meaningful outcomes. I’m open to opportunities that offer growth, impact, and the chance to keep learning. Whether in education, tech, or organizational development, I bring curiosity, accountability, and a deep commitment to getting things done well.
