About Kayla Trapp

Who I Am- I am a board-certified Physician Assistant licensed in Minnesota. I was drawn to a career in health care because I love having the opportunity to provide guidance, support, and encouragement to others during some of life's most vulnerable moments. I am motivated by mission-driven work, including serving marginalized communities, and I am deeply invested in addressing and combating health inequities in the Twin Cities. You can often find me reading fiction books, exploring the Twin Cities hiking trails, and sampling new cuisines whenever possible-What I Do- Above all else, I am a compassionate provider who genuinely enjoys building meaningful relationships with patients. I am knowledgeable of advanced concepts, procedures, and methods in diagnosing, treating, and preventing illness and disease. My experience in several diverse patient care roles prior to PA school has molded me into a well-rounded Physician Assistant with a unique appreciation for the barriers patients may face outside of the clinic or hospital preventing them from achieving a healthy life. I am a resourceful, critical thinker with a strong desire to continually strengthen my understanding of medicine. I have a track record of rapid learning, making me highly adaptable to fast-paced and dynamic work environments-What I'm Known For- I am the ultimate team player. I am quick to lend a helping hand to my colleagues. As a former team captain for the University of St. Thomas cross country and track and field teams, I've gained valuable insight on how to lead and inspire a team of like-minded individuals working together toward common goals. I have applied these same strategies on the high-performing health care teams I've participated on.
