About Kedar Gore

With a Masters Degree in Zoology and a PG Diploma in Management, I have been actively engaged with environmental NGOs in India since 1996. My overall area of work has been wildlife conservation, environmental awareness, biodiversity preservation, sustainable livelihoods, developing resource material, public relations, strategy planning, resource management and administration. Currently, I am working as the Director of The Corbett Foundation that has its presence in seven Indian states. I have earlier worked with: The Energy and Resources Institute, Vasant J Sheth Memorial Foundation and World Wide fund for Nature - India. I am a Member of IUCN Commissions - Commission on Education and Communication (CEC), Species Survival Commission (SSC) Bustard Specialist Group and World Commission on Protected Areas (WCPA). I have received the NUFFIC Fellowship of The Netherlands Government in 2009 and 2012, and have been a Fellow of the International Visitor Leadership Program, 2010 of the US Department of State. In 2018, I was awarded with '50 Most Impactful Social Innovators' at the World CSR Congress held in Mumbai and in 2019, I was honoured with 'IUCN CEC Excellence Award 2019 for South a Southeast Asia'. I have a Diploma in Conservation Biology from the Bombay Natural History Society, a Certificate in Conservation Education and Interpretation from the Wildlife Institute of India, a Certificate in Wetlands Management and Conflicts Management from the Wageningen University and a Certificate in Environmental Protection in the US from the US Department of State. I am a Member of the Board of Studies, SIES College; Member of Standard Development Group, Network for Certification and Conservation of Forests, and Member of India Business and Biodiversity Initiative of CII, Western Region. I have co-authored a book titled 'Great Indian Bustard: A Pictorial Life History' and co-edited 'Saving India's Wilderness: Challenges and Solutions' among other scientific and popular publications.
