About Keila Flewell

As a dual degree student in Mechanical Engineering at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), I am pursuing my passion for aerospace engineering and controls. I am currently involved in graduate research in unmanned aircraft systems, guidance navigation and control drones, and the Y-Direction Center for Gravity Estimator. In this role, I have gained valuable experience with drones and controls. As well as design and project management. Additionally, I have completed a four-month internship as a Test Engineer at Redwire Space, where I conducted environmental and information tests on flight hardware. Most recently, I completed an internship at Lockheed Martin RMS where I created Matlab code to automate a testing procedure along with performing integration testing for radar. I am eager to apply my skills and knowledge to real-world challenges and opportunities in the aerospace industry and to contribute to the advancement of space exploration and innovation. I am also semi-fluent in Spanish and enjoy sharing my diverse perspectives and experiences with others. I will graduate with a Master and Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering from RIT in May 2025 and to pursue a career in the aerospace industry.
