About Keisuke Nimura

2019 BBAMED5 I am currently a professor at Gunma University. I have developed and introduced various omics analysis methods such as next-generation sequencing and mass spectrometry, as well as bioinformatics, to elucidate the mechanisms of disease pathogenesis caused by disruption of gene expression regulation. The diseases I have targeted are mainly tumors and cardiac diseases. I have experience not only in mouse samples but also in single cell analysis of clinical specimens, expression analysis of specimens collected from clinical trials, and informatics analysis. We have supervised many students and published many papers. I have held a workshop on sequencing technology at the Senri Life Science Technology Workshop organized by the Senri Life Science Foundation. In 2019, I was featured in Nikkei Biotech's "Portrait of a Young Researcher". I have won a Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research on Innovative Areas B from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) as an area representative, and have received grants from Basic Research B, AMED, joint research funds with companies and for the establishment of venture companies, and private research grants. Furthermore, we have applied for five patents based on the results of our research to date.
