About Keith Arnold

I have 30 + years in the Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services with an outstanding career history. I have worked through the ranks and currently hold the position of Warden in Maryland’s highest security prison. I also was Acting Warden at that prison when the Warden was absent. My background in corrections is extensive. I have not chosen to follow the easy, but the challenging path. I have been a Traffic Officer, Environmental/Fire Safety Officer, Housing Unit Manager, Segregation Officer, etc. While in the role as Environmental/Fire Safety Officer, I was a key player in the ACA Accreditation of the first prison in Maryland to be accredited. I was handpicked as one of the first six staff members and promoted to Lieutenant for the preparation and construction/opening of the newest prison in Maryland. I am currently a Major at Western Correctional Institution. I am knowledgeable in computer skills and can use many types of spreadsheet and database applications. With my experience, it has given me the opportunity to develop good customer and coworker relations and communication skills. This is not only with custody staff but with non-custody as well. My experience has taught me how hard work, dedication and perseverance can help when completing a task or project. I also have an honorable discharge from four (4) years in the US Navy as a Petty Officer.
