I am a motivated professional with extensive leadership experience as a Security Manager. I have worked in hospital security for 25+ years, 16 of which have been as a supervisor and manager. I am a person that thrives in high pressure situations and I lead my team of employees towards positive results through the application of my management training and the utilization of their abilities and strengths. Additionally, I possess expertise in conflict resolution, as well as, an aptitude for optimizing performance. I am able to visualize success and identify innovative and effective strategies for success. I coordinate safety and security process improvement activities by analyzing data, trends, and regulations while promoting teamwork within the department and other units within the hospital. I have developed plans to meet compliance goals, patient/customer satisfaction expectations and quality of services provided. Serve on various work groups and committees concerning hospital-wide policies, and problem solving, especially as they relate to security and safety. As part of the Environment of Care I work with a committee on Safety & Security process improvement for CMS and Joint Commission (JCO) regulations. I have participated in multiple Joint Commission surveys for Emergency Management, Safety and Security. As a chair for the Emergency Management Committee I have developed and led training scenarios for active shooter drills and table top exercises. Throughout my career I have participated in multiple drills and disasters for CBRNE, mass casualty & pandemic events. I have completed/participated in multiple FEMA trainings for Hospital Incident command, crisis intervention, workplace violence, active shooter, CBRNE events, and hospital emergency response team (HERT). As the manager of Police and Security I am responsible for the daily operations of the Security Department. Specific duties include managing the budgetary needs of the department, keeping expenses in line, managing access control for building safety, and employee, patient and visitors safety. I am responsible for scheduling, training, developing staff and conducting performance appraisals among other tasks. I understand the changing needs of the customer, and I’m able to effectively deploy staff in order to meet those needs in a cost-effective manner. I am able to implement the department operation plan and goals of the department consistent with the hospital goals. I also act as a liaison to other departments and outside agencies to address any security concerns
