I have worked in the building services engineering industry for over 40 years and have extensive skills and experience in building services design and construction practices. For a large part of my career I have led multi-disciplined teams of engineers producing designs for high profile building projects, but more recently I have been based at various construction sites as the lead resident engineer with responsibility for fronting and delivering involvements during the complete construction stages of high profile building projects, for the Services Consultant that I represent. Invariably this has extended to a 'soft landings' role during occupation of the completed building After initially serving a 7 year indentured apprenticeship scheme with a major UK MEP services contractor, since 1981 I have worked for large M&E consultancy practices - notably for over 28 years serving as a senior employee in a client facing role for a well known international building services consultancy. During this period I was responsible for producing HVAC designs and tender documentation as well as managing the day-to-day involvements of the practice in a number of extensive and prestigious projects, including for private commercial & residential clients, select educational establishments, as well as government and public sector clients. This also included experience of working on overseas projects and in an overseas project team environment. In 2015 I became and am now a freelance Building Services Engineer (with a bias for mechanical services engineering), carrying out roles as a site based resident building services engineer during pre-construction and construction stages of a project. I am experienced in working on shell and core or fit-out projects throughout all stages from concept to completion and handover. I am flexible to be able to work abroad or in the UK, although for the UK prefer contracts to be London based.
